Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
CatalogWatchman (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Keptly LLC, 7901 4th St N, Ste 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA. This policy explains what data the app accesses when a merchant connects their Shopify store and Google Merchant Center account, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
CatalogWatchman is read-only. It does not create, change or delete anything in your Shopify store or your Google Merchant Center account.
1. Data we access
From your Shopify store
- Store information: shop domain, store name, the email address of the store account, and plan settings you choose in the app.
- Product data: product and variant IDs, titles, descriptions, prices, inventory and availability, images, SKUs, barcodes (GTIN) and product URLs.
- Order totals per product: we read orders from the last 30 days only to add up revenue per product. We do not store customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
From Google, after you sign in with Google
- Google account email address, to show which account is connected.
- Merchant Center account ID and the product data Merchant Center has stored for your account: product attributes (such as title, price, availability, image link, GTIN), product status, and item-level issues with their affected fields.
We request the Google scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/content, which is
the scope Google requires for the Merchant API. CatalogWatchman uses it only to read data.
It never submits, edits or deletes products, data sources or settings.
Data you give us
- The email address(es) you want alerts sent to, and your alert settings.
- Messages you send us for support.
2. How we use the data
We use this data only to provide the app's features to you:
- Comparing your Shopify catalog with the product data stored in Google Merchant Center.
- Detecting disapprovals, mismatches and a stalled or disconnected sync.
- Sorting issues by the revenue share of the affected products.
- Sending you alert emails and a monthly report.
- Keeping a history of daily snapshots so you can see when something changed.
We do not sell data, rent data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
3. Google API Services: Limited Use
CatalogWatchman's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above.
- We do not transfer Google user data to others, except as needed to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising, including retargeting or personalized ads.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data, except with your explicit consent for a specific support request, for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or when the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process data only on our instructions and only for this purpose:
- Hosting and database (servers in the United States).
- An email delivery service, to send alerts and reports.
We will list the providers by name here before the app is available to the public.
5. Storage and security
- Data is stored on servers in the United States.
- Access tokens for Shopify and Google are encrypted at rest. All connections use TLS.
- Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the app.
6. Retention and deletion
- While you use the app: current product data is kept for as long as the store is connected. Daily snapshots are kept for the history period of your plan (30 days on Pro, longer on Plus).
- When you uninstall the app or disconnect Google: we stop accessing your data immediately and delete the access tokens. All store data, Google data and history are deleted within 30 days, and in any case within the time limits set by Shopify's privacy requirements.
- On request: email [email protected] from the store account's email address and we delete your data within 30 days.
You can also revoke CatalogWatchman's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. We also handle Shopify's customer data requests and store redaction requests as Shopify requires.
8. Children
CatalogWatchman is a business tool for store owners. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell you by email before it takes effect.
